was driving home today and the clutch pedal seemed to be getting lower and lower then no clutch i had to turn engine off put it into gear and start engine to get it movin, turned out to be the clutch pedal, the top bolt which holds it in place had worked its way loose and fell out, thank god i replaced the bolt and all is well the clutch feels much lighter as well, the thought of replacing the clutch made my wallet shiver ;)

I have had exactly the same problems this last week, I went and bought
dot4 brake fluid and a bleed kit today, ok it was a lovely day I lay under
the car and bled the compensate pipe etc no difference, I thought oh dear
this could be a master/slave cylinder at best bearing in mind I had been out
working on the car for a couple of hours I thought probably best to post a
thread but will search for '' clutch '' and your post came up!

I went out to the car with a small torch and there was no bolt in the top
part of the clutch pedal, it took me a moment to see the threaded location
I borrowed a bolt from the battery securing bracket and after some lining
up managed to secure the pedal, now the strange thing is that I have owned
this vehicle since last september and do not recall finding a bolt in the footwell !

Thank you to Nissan 4x4 and glenbo for your assistance :)

I had this thought of a 7 hour clutch change
but fingers crossed all is fine

Thanks again
