Folks
Nissan Terrano SWB at full lock in 4 wheel drive(auto hubs) there is a clunking noise from the front ofside wheel in two wheel drive no noise I take it this is not normal. Is it a sign of the CV going or something else and should I refain from using 4 wheel drive or the vehicle at all until I can get someone to look at that
Thank you in advance

what surface you on with this then.

could ne NORMAL windup / skip..

also stearing stops might need looking at... see download section

Just put a blob of grease on the steering stops. 2 on each wheel.
Reason it clunks more there is a little wind up caused by the smaller radius the front wheels are taking.

also if on full lock with wind up theres way more forse there too

But if it doesn't do it on hard lock in 2WD I'd be voting for the CV joint being shagged.:thumb2 Symptoms are classic if its not steering stops which will normally be just a single clonk?
