I know this might sound a bit blue petter :? But have you thourght of useing clear fablon as it comes in the size you need, but I would give the paint work a realy good polish 1st as it would make it easier to remove again if it needed replacing later on

"Sticky backed plastic" a self adhesive plastic sheet that you can still buy in Wilkinsons, and after you have stuck it on you realise you have loads of air bubbles trapped..
The secret is to put some fairy liquid in some water and apply to the film and surface, position the fablon, which can now slide and then squeegee out the water starting from the middle. Admire it for about 3 weeks then you realise that the fablon has shrunk about 3mm all round....
You can get it in wood grain effect for your formica covered kitchen cabinet doors from the 1970's...
You could turn your Terrano into a Shooting brake or Morris traveller with wood grain sides....
Maybe not..

off to great mills tommorow bambuzzle the snot nosed kids with my fablon request! i have loadsa 3m reflective tape in white, yellow or red but it just doesent look right ofered up! hence thinkin f1 style tape! btw well done mclaren got away with that dodgy dosier even if ferrari cry fowl theyve never cheated have they!

There is also a clear film you can get for covering books, should be plenty of that around with next term starting soon, which reminds me ....

Didn't you hate it when you were at school and just started the 6 weeks summer holiday, and 1 week in, all the shops put up signs..... "Back to School " and you still had 5 weeks left....
Woolworths and Wilkinsons still do it....
trying to tempt the Mums to buying new clothes and stationary etc.
Jackets and shirts that were too big that you would "Grow into " eventually... but never did as they were worn out before they fitted properly.

Nostalgia... it's not what it used to be...

Hi Jace
Halfords sell the the sheets of paint protector.

as luck would have it great mills halfords sainsburys boots carpet right and mfi all in same estate ten mins walk from house! dont you just luv outve town shopping centers!

hated school all i ever wanted to do was cars closest thing i could get to that was engineering workshop and theory! blimey i stuck about 4 lessons then decided i didnt need to go in on fridays! i kinda chose which subjects i would tolerate and concentrated on them

you wouldnt believe the heat they generate in the back its not lined or anything but if its closed on normal (wet!) day open the windows and your hit with heat wave and steam. they have bitove carpet on floor i bung it out evry week get new bit outve skip always leave them the old bit so they dont feel hard done by lol!

How about one of those lattice type window things? Maybe safer than having dogs hanging out?

i a lazy git always leaning through windows to grab something rather than walking extra 2 foot and opening rear door! it did have like fly mesh on inside which did trick but in my infinate wisdom bashed it out so i could reach stuff through window doh! dogs dont jump out just like to loll outve windows got a video somewhere of dogs hanging out as we went through floods!

My Rack Russell's are the same Jace  Only thing 2 of mine did jump out of the window when I was in the works van as the rottie at the side of the road looked yummy   Luckly had hold of their leads as we were doing 60mph.

No they are soft as muck, if you came to mine they would pin you down & lick you to death

the stuff you're after is known as helicopter tape. Fablon, sticky back plastic, sign vinyl etc are all too soft especially when warm. Helicopter tape is much harder yet can be stretched to form compound curves where needed. I believe it is used on helicopter rotor leading edges to protect them from minor damage but is also used in high echelons of motorsport on wings etc also as stone guard over paintwork where the corporate logos etc need to show through. Try googling, its not cheap but you'll only need to apply it once not replace it every few months.

few avionics places round here so may not be such a daft request!
