just changed the batteries in both my remote fobs, the one i use daily is fine, however the spare which i was given without batteries wont work!!

Do you have to do anything else when replaceing batteries after a certain length of time?:nenau

On my focus which has the fob built into the key, if you don't replace the batteries within 10 mins or they go flat, you have to switch ignition on and off 6 times then press the buttons to reprogram the fob

As always thanks for your help:bow

If you have a look in the downloads section there are instructions for re-coding your keys mate :thumb2

If the procedure in the download doesn't work then it's more than likely that the micro switches within the fob are not working, but don't despair they can be repaired fairly economically. I have recently had one done by an eBay seller that cost £30.00 + postage.

If you are handy, and can do fine soldering then you can buy a kit to do it yourself for about half the proce.

So far I have had to repair both my keys.

Here is a link to the seller and item...
