Hi guys,

A little project to follow up on my dash fix. I got a new simple radio (no CD, DVD etc...) it just play the radio and mp3 by USB or SD card.

I have 2 cables for one side of the speaker, 2 for the other side, a red and yellow with a fuse and a black one (easy so far)

on the car (from the plug I have) 2 green and 2 violet (which I am sure are the speakers) red, yellow, blue, black, yellow, grey & black, grey, white, dark grey & black)

1) I need to fix the indicator.... did I missed the fuse, or relay ? or else? :doh
2) connect the stupid radio :nenau

I had to upgrade the speakers in my swb terrano because I blew the door speakers.:doh. Ime having to buy 2 more speakers for my new lwb because of the back doors. I take it there 4x6inch? As I'm getting my terrano this weekend from Liverpool:D I'll just transfer the 2 aftermarket ones from my swb

Green is postive+ and violet is negative- for the speakers. If I were you I'd get new speakers for the doors because thay are not very good at handling power when a aftermarket radio is plugged in. The speaker size is 4x6 inch or 6x4 inch

colour ?

Hi Guys,

A bit lost in this, anybody could tell me from the pictures what they think which colors goes with which color ?

I also need to fix the indicators of my car any ideas where the problem can be ?

Re the radio; have you not just got a plug set off the back of the old unit? If so, you can normally get an adaptor easily enough? If you have, post a pic of the plug from the old radio...

Re indicators, whats the problem exactly? What does and doesn't work?

Could be anything from blown fuse, short circuit, knackered bulb, dirty earth. etc., etc.. Just have to eliminate each one til you find the culprit....

Where did you buy this truck anyway, the scrapper? :lol

first indicators

First I need to sort the indicators.

I tried to plug in the new radio and messed up the cables, so I heard the fuse popping. I only found 1 to change (10A) which was the interior lights, buzzer and key lock. But since there is no indicators working at all.....

So :
- which one is the indicator one
- if it's not the fuse what did I blowed up ?

Don't knw the Mistral unfortunately....

have you located the fuse box and is there a list of fuses on the lid?

Otherwise I'd be pulling out all the smaller ones, say 10amps or less, and checking them? But expect a new one to pop again if your radio wiring is dodgy?

thanks

The fuse box is exactly the same than the terrano, but it's in japenese.

I am going to check the fuses now again, if it's not the fuse, what else can it be ?

indicator

nope bulbs are fine can'tr e the 6 bulbs together, and there is no "ticking" when putting them on.

well as I said, any of the above, but if they were working before, unless you've somehow blown the relay up (highly unlikely) I'd bet on the fuses.

Wait til Briggie or someone comes on, they may have a translated diagram, or have you looked in the online manual for the Terrano (which may not be the same though)...

What we all need is a wireing diagram for terrano's and mavericks that can be put into the club.

Errr online manual? have you not got the linky?

BUT...theres no guarantee of continuity; the manual is a 2002 document so specific to the facelift MkIIIs and IVs, so might not be accurate for earlier Mks.

relay !

Ok guys,

I checked all the fuses and they are fine (checked yesterday and twice today)

It has to be the relay. Is it the one under the bonnet ? for the "hazard lights"

How do I check and where can I get a new one ?

Not sure if it is but someone will now, I'd have though that one is seperate since it runs all the indicators at one, but you never know....

Nissan dealer (probably expensive) or motor factors, much cheaper! I'm sure you can use a generic unit rather than a Nissan-specific one, but you'l probably find this bit is used across a whole load of models....so should easy enough to get.

But I'm still suspicious...if you heard a pop then what blew? can't see it being the indicator relay but I'm a twerp.... :)

Please help

Is any body can tell me what are the 3 relays near the fuses box and the ones under the dash.

From left to right when looking the steering wheel ?

I need to sort this out before dark.

seb

Guess you didn't sort it then

C'mon somebody must know???

i can post the electrical section of the manual if that helps ?

too late !

Did not get it done, I believe it is the flasher relay but if someone can just tell me what each relay are it would help.

The usual ones are 3 pins or 4 pins, is it the same for the terrano ? :nenau
