Just been asked from BBsite if anybody here would be interested in this:-

September Friday 12th to Sunday 14th.

OK folks, who`s up for a 24 hour treasure hunt starting at 6.00pm (evening) and finishing 6.00pm (evening). The route will be all legal lanes and it will be none stop driving, each truck will need a co-driver/navigator, and the route map will be given out at the start. Minimum of 2 trucks per team (all trucks must have working CB`s). There will be marker/collection points (information) on route to prove you have completed the course. The route will involve lanes in Cumbria & NY Dales National Parks & will involve driving lanes at night, it will also involve having a pub finish. The treasure hunt will start on a Friday evening so there will be the chance to camp over on the Saturday night with a BBQ & chill on Sunday before heading off for home.
Any names please must be per team (2 trucks).

Any takers

Provided its run legally I'd be up for this in either seat. Have plenty of experience as a navigator and know a fair number of the lanes in that area. Who's the invite from Steve?

It's from Pete(Big Beast) m8..I was looking forward to Leuchars Airshow that weekend, but wife would rather go on this!!
Must have also posted on Difflock as there is already a team from there!

There'll be drinking involved then

Not sure really depends how its run, can get into a ot of trouble running competitions on the road unless you know how to do it - insurance fr a start, its not as easy as people think.

Don't think he wants it to be officially a comp! think it's for a bit of fun!!
Understand where your coming from HB

Team Wales is up for it!
I guess the trucks dont have to be Nissan/Ford then.
Any idea what sort of distance it's likely to be so we can work out how much fuel we need to carry?
Also can there be more than 2 per car?

This event is being ran as a treasure hunt for fun, there is no challenge/race/trial/or competition implied, those who take part are aware that the organisers/clubs involved will accept no responsibilty/claim for damage or injury to any parties involved (including third parties).
All participants will be expected to drive within the law and follow all driving codes while on green lanes.
Each participant must make sure their insurance & the co-drivers is upto date and legal.
There will be a dis-claimer to complete & sign and hand in before you set off !! and a home contact number will be needed. ( just incase you give up & go home)

Each team of 2 trucks will have a 15 minute gap when setting off, but all participants are expected to help other teams should there be a problem that the team can not sort out themselves.(does not include map reading)

This will be a very good event if the spirit of it is there, it`s a laugh a bit of fun and like all laning events it will be a great social get together afterwards to tell all your tales.

more info!!

Hi cosmic, Team Wales can do 2 teams of two, assuming a mixed fleet.
I'll confirm that at the weekend though just to be safe.
Sounds like a challenge!
