Should the title be CB radio Zippy?:nenau:thumbs

You can't use the AM over here & I think the FM band is the one they use over in Europe, so not alot of use over here.

It is as I thought, just seen this for over here..

a band at 27 MHz was allocated but using FM and offset channel frequencies 27.60125 - 27.99125 MHz

My dad is a radio ham he keeps telling me to learn:rolleyes::thumbs

i want it for green laning and also thinking of joining wessex 4x4 response as well.

Looks a good starter pack you found there zippy,if it's for laning then it's spot on as you are usually in a group anyways!!.
Remember you don't need a license anymore for cb.
Not many peeps use AM and it is illegal i think to use in this country, but heay when has that ever stopped anyone:augie:lol
Mind and get it SWR'd in proper!!:thumbs

Nothing wrong with a naughty rig:sly:augie:augie TBH found it handy at times over the years having a CB in my motor as i've managed to miss tail backs etc thanks to truckers stuck in them:rolleyes:

A naughty cb rig Zippy suits you sir:thumbs:lol:surrender

Yeah right zippy!:lol:lol:sly

its true..

well there was.... ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

but i dont think that counts... as wasnt my fault!

You'll definitely need to get some better rubber m8!!:thumbs
Not 100% sure, but most response use Amateur!!
I'm sure i'll get corrected:D:augie

Most use CB (and PMR) at the moment but with a fair number of members who are amateurs too. HY4x4R would use CB on scene as everyone has it but if possible would probably use HAM for long distance stuff like controller talking to team leader on the ground. A number of councils are also installing HAM sets so they can comunicate with Raynet and any other users.

As for those CB's they appear to be illegal from what I can make out but only technically, its cos they're not correctly marked etc, but if you use em on FM on UK40 and EU40 no one would ever know, start using other freqs and/or AM and you might upset people but tbh you'd probably still get away with it.

But TBH I'd go for a Midland set again if I were buying one, they are of a known quality and the expertise is out there to repair em if they go down sometime in the future - dodgy chinese imports might be a different matter.
