If it was just the wires and no connector it's possible there is a fuse or two popped. Also if I remember right there is some kind of amplifier under one of the seats in the Mav's.
HarlowMaverick has just fitted a new stereo so you could drop him a pm for advice.

no good asking me :augie
there were connectors and plugs in my maverick, all i did was get the right connector from halfords and hey presto!
seriously though, your best bet now is to completly re wire the stereo and speakers and eliminate the amp thats under the seat. the wireing looked a nightmare to work out, so starting from the beginning and makeing your own loom would be the best option especially in your situation

fitted a new cd player in mine not so long ago and that was a mess when i pulled the old unit out.
as luck would have it i had another motor at hand to look at and compare all the wiring.
dont know if the wires are the same colour as the terrano but i'm sure the constant live wire was blue or blue/black.

Thanks for help, I left amp and and wired all stero up fine, and got wiring right in end, Just a lot of swearing involded, But thanks guys for advice :)

Hi, when you say you left the amp, did you by-pass it, or wire through it so you still use the amp?
Mine is the same as yours and has the amp under the drivers seat.
Something that Ford did and not Nissan, I believe.
At the mo I use a casette converter to a seperate portable cd player or an MP4 player. Not easy to change on the move though, so I select the tracks before the journey.
I would prefer a CD player with SD & USB and remote inputs. Only £50 from Aldi, at the moment, with blue tooth and remote control.
Similar to the unit I bought last year for the boat, but when I looked into the Mav.... thought I would leave well alone at the time.
Best regards,
Rustic

For those that may be interested .... I still have the original stereo fitted to my imported mistral .... Its a radio cassette , but will need a expander for use in this country ..... Free if anyone wants it
