Just mounted this in the slot space below the ashtray. Still need to plumb in power and antenna.
Still deciding wether to drill mount or something on roof rails.

The maverick is a great vehicle for radio enthusiasts like meas theres lots of space to mount radios without getting in the way of driving.
Not need to mount my VHF/UHF radio above that on a remote head, Going to wait as I will be buying a different one I currently have now.
Fit's in snugly.

Fez, yours looks better:nenau

Zippy's looks like he has mice:lol Well during the engineering phase.:thumbs

I was thinking of doing similar with the Old amstrad 901, but still not sure where to stick the aerial.... no rude suggestions please.
The mike comes out of the side on that one. (possibly get a right angle adaptor I guess)
On the side, On the side.....Breaker 1-9.... Good buddy and all that...

Problem I have is the Mav is garaged and only misses the door by 2" and I don't have roof bars either.
Mag mount is an option but may tend to damage the cable as the shut lines are very close, unlike British Leyland cars, you could run a hose pipe through the gaps in the doors.:lol

you got to bend slightly to get at the controls of mine, Zippys is right where you need it.

I secured it with bolts from the side of the radio through the plastic hole. I could drill a series of holes so it can be adjusted, We will see how it goes.

As for mounting a antenna, If you don't want to drill or a mag mount. I'd suggest using a boot lid mount maybe on the bonnet. Then you can run the coax through the firewall.
Won't have the best groundplane but better than nothing, Also I'd be worried about using the bigger mobile antennas.

This is the method I used for my 2 VHF/UHF antennas on my vitara. Worked pretty well and very neat for such a nothing permanent like drilling holes sort of jobbie.

This it below, Obviosly a example on what can be done because the maverick/terrano bonnet is different. But the fundamentals are there.

They are MB-400 Hatchback Mounts, I can test how well they work on my maverick bonnet if you like. If the gap between the bonnet and side are not very wide you could use this kit to get to the antenna:

But would restrict you to a so239 CB antenna.

Hope this gives you some ideas.
