choosing and installing a aerial is probably the single most difficult and sometimes complicated part of installing a cb radio ...... but it doesnt have to be .
for a beginner , its probably best to buy a pre swr'd aerial ( will deal with swr later in another thread ) .. a decent aerial is the stinger , it comes in short and long versions , the short version is ideal for green laning or where height is a issue
having bought your aerial , you need to mount it on your vehicle , the easiest way to do this is to use a magnetic base mount..... will discuss other options later .
