Not a CB, CB uses around 27 mhz.

That uses 136-174 mHz, Only can be used if you have a licensed frequency (costs money) or hold a amateur radio license between 144-146 mhz.

yup , thats not a cb , as fez says ...... need a licence to operate that

i know nothing about this subject but the radios that are showed in stinkas message look just like the ones we use when we are shooting to talk to each other we aint got no licence

not really what they look like, some use different frequency "bands" and have the same look.

Unlikely you will be caught, But it's possible. I personally would find out what the deal with them is, there are frequencies you could use and 99.9% won't get caught.

I keep wondering whether to get a CB. I know they are used on green lane trips to keep in touch with other drivers, but are they used for things like Pay & Play days, when you get stuck and need recovering etc.

Have they any other uses?

once you'v got a CB it allows you to overtake HGV's on dual carriageways travelling .5-1mph faster than your 'big buddy' while talking to each other for the next 5miles :augie

Yes they do, normally when you drive in, there will be a notice up telling which channel they are monitoring.
