yes it will ,

swr is a measure of the reflected power at the antenna ....... more power going through antenna ..... potentially more reflected power if swr is badly wrong , too much reflected power ...... and bye bye radio ,

to use a linear , the swr needs to be as low as possible

incidently as im sure you are aware , the use of linear amplifiers ( burners ) on cb is illegal , ........ this is one of those strange laws where its not illegal to own a linear amplifier for cb use , its just illegal to use it :lol.

but im sure you only plan on looking at it and not using it :augie:sly;)
 
Don't forget they get hot when in use so make sure there is an air flow over it . David.
 
A better aerial including fittings, coax and ground are better than more poweJim
