I fitted a cb today and all i could get was a couple of drunken Nottinghamites talking the biggist load of bull on ch 19!.
There was no one else out there on any of the other 39 channels, so do i need a longer arial because the one i've got that came with it is only about 2' 6" long.
Bye the way i have never had a cb before.

CB RADIO

Hi Gordon.
What have got will be fine, you can recive a signal on a coat hanger.
when we are in convoy you will be reaching for the squelch nob to cut out all the skip and white noise out. As long as the SWR is ok you shouldn`t have a problem.
When we are with other groups in the Derbyshire hills we still loose the other groups due to all the hills .
CBs works the best in a straight line over flat land.
Hope this helps.

Where
i live it's very quiet on the CB but if I drive 8 miles into Newcastle it is chocker 8O so I would say alot depends on the area your in. You will get used to the bonnnng when you clip trees with the twig & the odd sea gull as I found out the other month
