hi guys my truck is suffering with constant air in the fuel and brings up the mil light and ive noticed the fuel lines are really rusty :eek:

i was thinking about replacing both fuel lines from the tank right to the engine bay and using the existing hard pipe as it goes into the engine bay.

i dont want to replace the pipes with copper pipe or original hardpipe.

just wondering if normal reinforced rubber pipe will be ok?

i think the feed pipe is 10mm and return pipe is 8mm ? ?

im also going to replace the fuel filter which hasnt been replaced for 18 months at least !!

if doig fuel lines from tank to engine bay normal rubber fuel line will be fine on mine it was 8mm internal dia for feed and 6mm internal dia for return i got it off the real so it was 1 length from fuel tank to fuel filter then 1 length 6mm return from return on pump to tank, but make sure its not the fuel filter or the fuel primer ontop of the fuel filter they can let in air does ur primer go hard:eek

.

my primer goes hard no problem also when i open the drain plug on the bottom of the fuel filter i hear the fuel gurgle and the more i open the drain plug it clears then i tighten it up go off for a drive and after about 20-30 mins it starts mucking around again and the mil light comes on, i then pull the car over and do the process again and the car goes fine agin till the mil flashes up etc you get the drift.

but on my last mot the tester was debating to pass it due to the severly rusted fuel lines on the drivers side rear inner chassis

mine soon

gotta do mine soon it just passed the mot recently after i cut out the rotten brake pipes at the rear and replaced with new copper, the mot examiner said the fuel lines were boarder line but not leaking, use the old lines to cable tie the new rubber hose to it makes the job a lot easier.
