I've been replacing the fuel lines today and have discovered that the exhaust is a mess !

The cat has putty both ends the box after that has a small hole in it and ready to blow big time

What I was wondering is can I remove the cat converter and replace it with a straight through pipe ?

The lamda sensor is before the cat so should create a problem there

I don't care bout emissions and mots

Just wondering if anyone has done it or foresees any probs ?

I really don't want to have put a whole new system on it as they come in around £200 plus fitting

OK, I may be barking up the wrong tree here, but under your avatar, it says you have a 2.7TDi. I thought Diesels could not have CAT's

he says at the top its for his 2.4 mav :p

Opppss.. sorry, thanks for that.

When you view the topics, it only shows part of the title, and I often forget to re-check the top of the post to see if there is any more...

removing the cat will give you around 5 bhp more, no problems other than at mot time, Rick
