basically I think I have found the problem, the picture is made up of two pictures right hand side is front right hand side left is left and is taken from the back of the car facing forwards my head is right under the gearbox to give you perspective

methinks the bushings have gone on the right hand side because of the jaunty angle the bar is in the bushing

what do you lot think ?

camber problem

think i will have to look at mine.has a steering wobble at about 50mph and pulls to the left slightly.had it tracked and wheels balanced but it still does it.if i look at the wheels from the front of my t2 the camber seems to be different more so the drivers side.think i'm just going to change all the bushes to eliminate that and have it re tracked.

What a great idea Draconis to photograph it.
I may do the same with mine and compare them, as mine has never had new bushes, 83k miles on the clock now. Just looked at mine and mine look like the photo on the left (nearside). So probably not that worn!

Could any one who has recently fitted bushes to their Mav / Terrano post their pictures in the same way as Draconis, as it may help others in locating wear before any damage is done.
Also it will give us an idea as what is normal..?
What type of bush is fitted at the back, is it easy to change, do you have to take off the tension on the torsion bars?

What is the expected life of these bushes?
I guess it depends on how much off roading is done, but those speed humps must shorten the life somewhat..

kind regards,
Rustic

I've just had bl@@dy heart failure, I rang up my local nissan "stand and deliver" parts department and they want £160 for both sides all in but that does include from the compression rod to the nut at the very end with all bushes included......because I'm not convinced the thread will survive a nut being taken off it :(

then I thought ahhh ring a ford dealer and pretend it's a Maverick I'm always suspicious but when the parts department guy turns a figure out of his head without looking

he wanted £173 !!! just for the compression rod !!! and just short of £429 for compression rod to the nut on the end ON ONE SIDE !!! so to replace both would be £858 + VAT !!! quick pass me a brown paper bag I'm hyperventilating here.....lol

looks like it will be staying on FORDS parts shelf ...... lol robbing bar stewards !!!

Milners do just the bushing kit but that doesn't include anything else just the rubber bushes

might have to bite the bullet on this one and go Nissan

I searched and found this post but cant view the pics. :(

Is there any chance that the OP can puit them back up for me to view please?
