Hey fella's

Ive won a 20" led lightbar on the bay and im thinking about mounting it in the centre vent on my front bumper. Anyone think this will have an effect on the airflow to the rad or should this not matter as the temp never goes above halfway anyways.

Cheer's Luke.

Shouldn't have thought it would have made much of a difference but wouldn't like to say 100% until i'd tested it.

Before you go drilling any holes, i'd cable tie it in place and give it a good run under different conditions and if you see any worring signs from the temp guage :thumb2

Hiya mate, I've had the same thoughts regarding over heating because of things in front of rad and have come to the conclusion that I would have to block it off completely to make ANY difference at all. I think the vent you are talking of is just for looks anyway tbh and you'll probably have the air con rad in front of rad too. When I have some spare cash I will be doing the same as you with a light and I'll nit be worrying, I'll have a winch in front of rad by then too :thumbs

We have LED light bars on both our T2's, and it has made no difference at all...

In fact with all this abuse the temp gauge never moved.

Looks alright that dunnit, even comes with some decent brackets!!

I read the review and thought sod it crate of lager or lightbar hmmm...

Well I pulled my finger out and have now fitted the bar. So first of all where to mount it, I didnt want it bolted just to the bumper sticking out so decided to recess it.

Bumper measured and cut had to remove the grille supports but didnt make much difference and the bumper hardly flexes.

All fitted and it doesnt look to bad, I bought a wiring kit with a proper lightbar rocker switch which are the same size as the Nissan switches so it fits into the dash in one of the blanks and looks good. Its bright to say the least I just need some real darkness to try it properly. Next I think its about time I paint that bloody grille and get myself some modulars to put some of my large stock of tyres on :). Then maybe I could be persuaded to get a bit more height ;).

Yes Luke!!!! Loving your work buddy, stick at it and you'll have a formidable machine there my friend.

I may see how much space I've got left when I've fitted the winch and get one of those myself :naughty
