So p1$$ed off, started the car tonight and the wipers were on. The blades were frozen to the screen so now they don't work ;O(

Fuse is ok but nothing working and the arms will move by hand from the down position to upright and then stop. Just been out in the snow and can't even get the arms off ;O(

Think I've got to get the plastic panel off to get to the linkage, am I right?

Also do you think it could have burnt the motor out?

Really fed up as Im working for the next two days and driving to Cornwall on Sunday.

Any advice appreciated

Brian

When I worked in Nissan Dealers we expected loads of people coming in after the same thing happened. Used to be a plastic in end of the linkage that popped off a spindle or motor. When that happened you could still hear the motor but it was a lot quieter. Don't know if these have the same linkage system or not.

had a similar prob on a car door lock once. the plastic joint would pop apart and was a simple job to pop it back. hope its something simple like for you,

Thanks guys.

Jim ,do I have to take the wipers off to remove the plastic panel? I think there is another panel behind that to get to the linkage but not sure.

Hopefully it is working quietly , couldnt hear as I was swearing too much ;O)

could try putting them on, then holding a metal bar onto the area and the other end in your ear, will hear aLOT better if its running

Hi,
Swanny here ,did a bit regarding the prob here. Nut has loosened off arm above wiper motor.Tapered fit. Disconnect elec plug to motor first. Or nipped fingers a possibility or worse. Details on elec thread.

Swanny.All the best.

Well managed to break them again today ;O( Had the car for nearly 12 years now with no probs and now nut comes of the wiper twice in a week.

Will fix again tomorrow but any advice on what i can do to stop it happening again?

Brian

use some thread lock on the threads or ni-lok nut, or you could weld it on for a perminent fix :lol:thumb2
