So on my quest to get an MOT retest today one of the things it failed on was O/S rear sidelight. Just a bulb I thought.:nenau On my way for the retest I called into the local factors for a bulb and fit it at the side of the road. Er.. why isn't it working? Quick swap of the other working bulbs and nothing, no joy. As I inspected the bulb holder I could see that the wire had come away :doh but was still attached by the outer sheath. As you will see from the pictures the bulb holders are sealed injection molded possibly with the wires in situ. So I ask a clever sparky friend of mine to have a look.
This pic shows the Black wire snapped off:

The Black wire matches to the sidewall connector of the small bayonet light fitting. As you can see there is nothing left to join on to so here is what my Sparky friend did to fix it.
First get a small self tapper and with a drill or a decent cordless screwdriver do this:

notice how it has come through and made contact at the bottom of the side terminal, (just make out the self tapper:

Remove the screw and add a connector to the Black wire and refit like this:

To be on the safe side wrap some electrical tape around the connector and the self tapping screw. refit bulb and refit bulb holder into the rear light cluster by carefully lining up and twist to lock in place. :clap
Hopefully it can be of use to someone.

Need to break off or snip off one of the lugs first.
Retest now in the morning.
