ok ive decided to number these threads now, just so you know what one it is . there have been a few now

yep you guessed it its gone again, the steering

it just dont like ruts

so im doing a version of the idler bracket
but also want to put steering damper on

any thoughts on these options

1 put damper on relay rod

2 put a damper on each front wheel

on the relay rod will be easier and out of the way, but on the wheels will dampen the movement on the wheels saving the joints

its not the joints that suffer its just the idler bends and puts the tracking out and its all over the place with the wheels fighting for direction

if i can stop it bending it wont be a problem... seen the other old posts on idler braces and fergy ball joints and modded relay rod but thats probably overkill

it just needs fixing so it cant bend.

ever ever ever again

any help thoughts ideas gratefully received:bow:bow:bow

well you know im going to ask for pics..

is it getting bashed?

no its when the ruts start seperating and changing direction it just seems to pull the wheels apart and the idler bar bends on the post that fixes to the chassis

Wheels/tyres are too big - too much leverage. Barnizuki has had same problem on his D21 pickup. I suspect a steering damper will make it worse as it will put even more resistance into the system to work against, they're to make road driving better really.

i can understand its the wheels too big. but it used to do it in 31's

pete never gets a problem and he really launches it into and around the ruts up to 20-25mph. while i drive crawling speed

ill have it braced this week when i get some new parts

Colin, I saw my mate on the way home tonight.
He's making a batch next week. Should be avail from Wed.:thumbs
Also looking at new bushes for inside the idler too:D

SMALLER WHEELS :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

What about me angle-ion idea

was going for that as soon as i got the spare truck

then wait for pete too as a back up plan
