ok so i assume i should have diff breathers but want to extend them,
can i just replace the hoses with longer ones , if i can what size bore hose do i need its a 98 maverick

secondly i want to do a snorkel i have looked at the pics and nothing grabs me the stainless looks the best so far but id prefer a safari type has anyone modified a safari snorkel ?

the next one is a big ask, can anyone here do nice welding who owns a swb who could make some heavy duty rock sliders so i can leave my side steps behind next time they get stuck

oh and skid pans... anyone made any ?

There are snorkels on the market for the T2 & it's been covered on here a few time so a search will bring up what you want, but some are of a nice £500  You can buy full under body protection but I don't know the price. As for rock sliders there will be some getting made in the future by a member on here  so I for one will just wait till that time

yes i have seen the pics etc but as we are in a credit crunch/crash/disaster cost is an issue

i could afford a second hand safari to modify but i would want one that follows the car profile, i imagine you can move the holes etc but you cant change the profile much anyone else done this

skid pans im working on a plan now would prefer thick alluminum .then the cost comes up

rock sliders i have a friend who could do some but would have to run them to the local forge to tidy the welds up

how about the diff breathers?

The front diff & g/box vent into the engine bay via the same tube I think :? the rear diff vents above the fuel tank but can be repiped to the engine bay if you so wished but I don't know what size pipe is needed

ASFIR and others do underbody protection but can't really see the point theres nothing vulnerable to protect and all you're doing is reducing you clearance big time.

Rock sliders as said, they're on their way or as you say make your own.

Breathers unless you're going really really deep are good as standard, never got water in my diffs and I've spent 30+ mins at a time with water most the way up the doors.
