Hello,

I've just had to have new front to rear brake pipes made up for my mavericks MOT, I had them made by a local motor factors and fitted them myself.
My problem is that When I took my car back for the retest it blew the pipe out of the ferrel when it went on the rollers. My MOT tester took them off and said that the they had been flared with too little material so when they were tightened they just cut though rather than crushing and sealing the lines.
My Problem is that I'm worried it might have been that I'd tightened them up too much (tester said not) so was wondering if you guys had any ideas on the matter?

Cheers

Damian

no, i reckon they were made wrong, on my flaring tool there is set lenth of pipe that is clamped and when you make the flare it comes out the right size, if you dont have enough pipe in the clamp, the flare will be to small and could break when you tighten up.:thumb2
