Hi,

Had 2 rear tyres changed today. Noticed one side of Terrano had the "Bound Bumper" (name as per manual) missing. It's that rubber figure of 8 looking thing.

I don't do any off-roading or anything so no much bouncing about at the back. Is it a problem if I don't have this on one side?

Also my exhaust is blowing slightly at the front by the flexi hose. Just a couple more jobs to do. :(

I havent had any rear bump stops for years, ideally it is better to have them and Im sure there must be hundreds at the side of roads. Think theyre rather costly from Nissan. Think Ive seen them on ebay from eastern europe or somewhere.

Thanks... they are on Ebay but nearly £40 with postage.

Lots of other "little" jobs need doing so if it's not desperate I'll leave it. Have to change leak off pipes; change the gearbox oil; I have the oil and bits to do those. Need to change Radio/CD which is kaput; need to change the clutch pedal return spring/part; and now there's a slight blow in the exhaust. But I just love the Terrano have had it 4 years, the longest I have owned any vehicle. So damn practical! :thumb2

If you feel you need them there are some cheap ones from Land Rovers that fit the bill.
But I don't know which ones...
But that is the way to go.:nenau

Most of us feel the same way about them. Ive had a r plate truck since 2002 and love. Last year I bought an 05 plate, ended up pxing it a couple of months ago. It cost me a lot of money and there was no end in sight to the bills coming in, it had rot where it really shouldnt have had so thought it best to get rid. Then about a month ago I bought an MOT fail on here, a t reg and its a cracking motor. Its now a project car for me and my son, not much time at the moment but should have some time mid july and through august. Will get it on the road and take it from there. This one has some rot to sort out, take a look at my project thread and see what you think.

Anyway best of luck getting your repairs sorted out.

some of the trooper ones on ebay look the part too, but without dimensions, difficult to check.

Trouble is all the Terrano ones have dropped off so nobody knows the dimensions :lol

Im sure there will be an old maverick somewhere thatll still have a full set glued on with waxoil no doubt:augie

Mine are still there...

.....

I think...

.

And mine...I know :augie
The exhaust flexi can be fixed with a bandage type repair, I did mine and it lasted quite well

My 99 has them both..

Looking at where it rubs on the photo of the one you still have, I would say you have used it a few times.

The rear bump stops also act as spring assister's if your towing or carrying heavy loads:thumb2 I lost one a few months back but Rick had the rubber part which I bought off him & rebonded it onto the steel part & put a huge cable tie through it & around the chassis so if the bonding fails i'm not going to loose the rubber:thumbs

you will be lucky to remove the two bolts that hold the bracket on to the chassis they almost always shear, I have rubbers at £10 a time including two cable ties to hold them on (ties are 15 mm wide and 1.5 mm thick) having said all that if you rarely travel with a full load then they do not do a lot, my Mrs motor they rarely touch but my motor loaded all the time plus towing I could not do without them, Rick
