So I've been chatting to the crazy Italian mob today about terranos, a few of you will know. Ruben, and the other chap I cannot remember his name but has a profile pic of a bad ass turbo.

Anyway, I commented on one of his posts and we got chatting about turbos, as it goes seems there is a bolt on replacement for the 2.7 terrano turbo with much more power :sly

It's from an Audi, more details to follow as I get them.

Small modification is needed for exhaust, oil pipe and one other thing I believe, but lines up perfectly with the stock one

If it's a variable vain audi job I wouldn't bother there not very strong & my mate 2L TDI VW has ate 2 turbo's in the last 6 months since his remap:doh & talking of remaps you'll prob have to have yours done again if you change the turbo:augie but i've been told the standard T2 ones can handle upto 2 bar & quite a few pug owners are fitting them onto their tuned 1.9D engines:thumb2

I don't imagine he would use it if it were weak. If you see his build you'd be shocked... I cant believe the work involved... Quite jealous

They will provide me more info but here are some pics I found in his terrano build bit.

As I understand it he'll get better acceleration and low down grunt. THE big issue with theT2 is the fuel pump/ecu marriage. No amount of re-map will change the fact the pump will max out long before the engine would want it to.
As you're a non spanner monkey Alex you WILL be buying Rick a new house :lol
Like all these things, it's not just the turbo VNT or other. it's all the associated tweaks and trickery needed to make the changes worth while :D
As I keep saying, the cheapest bang for your bucks is LPG injection, simples and pretty much bolt on . Technically, methanol /water injection will produce more power ,but it's a more expensive way round.
