I have been going back through old posts on doing a Body lift, and there seem to be a lot of posts about it, but not much in the way of pictures...

Firstly, I can only find a 1.5inch kit from Milners, or a 2" kit from xpajun. I saw lots of posts of people making their own kits, but these never seemed to get to the "for sale" phase, as getting the correct bolts seemed to be a problem.

So, as I want to do the full 2", no point in doing all the work and loosing out, do I only have the one place to get the bits from, or is there anyone else selling the 2" kit?

Also as far as re-hanging the Bumper goes, I have only seen one picture, which involved using some bits of metal to adjust it, but it did not look very strong, so I wondered how other people did it.

I did it :D
but didn't take many pictures:eek:

go fot the xjapun kit mate it was perfect for me.but measure your bolts before you start as other peeps got the wrong length I believe.

I cant remember of top of me head 75mm or 100mm bolts:nenau

give yourself plenty of time.
remove bumpers.
then remove chassis bolts.
my mate did mine. it was new to him and he took all bolts out both sides:eek:

don't do this as its difficult to relocate body to chassis when its suspended on 2 trolly jacks:augie
loosen all but do one side at a time.

I will try find some pics for you.
I know ive got none of the rear bumper as it was such a bodge. but it stood up to strata florida.

I might take it off and take some pics of bodge.good excuse for waxoyling

The Xpajun kit has the bolts, which is good news, it's just the bumpers that worry me, so I would like to take you up on the pictures when you get a chance... Cheers

the rear bumper has two flanges that bolt into the chssis.
cut them off. hold the bumper upto where you want it and retack them on.remove them again then bodge with loads of weld
the front is a little easier once the lift is done relocate the bumper and it will just need a little grinding. there are 4 bolts that hold it on.
now there are only 2:augie and the other two have got lardge washers on the clamp the bumper.
hope this makes any sence:nenau

radiator cowl will need modifying or binning, and you you have to loosen off the steering coloumn joint so it will extend when you lift the body.
the brake lines need the coils in engine bay stretching and any body to chassis fitting like fuel tank filler neck need adjusting.
hand brake cable may need slackening off also.

out of all that all i did was remove the rad cowl :lol

the brake line coils should stretch on their own when the body is lifted.
just covering what I have been told to look for when doing the body lift.

It's not a laughing matter tbh, If you did not slack your steering joint off before you could be putting undue stress to the steering.

Ordered my 2" body lift kit today from http://www.xpajun.co.uk
Won't be fitting it for a couple of weeks so it gives me time to give all the nuts and bolts a good soaking with penetrating oil.

same here mate. binned the cowling took bumpers off. undid bolts and wound it up.
steering.handbrake, fuel lines not touched.

don't forget you need longer arms to reach the gearstick:lol

Can these longer gearstick arms be obtained from Milners:lol

Got home from work today and this was waiting for me:thumbs

Got to wait until next weekend to fit it as I have plans this weekend.

result, look forward to hearing how the fitting goes. Take lots of Pictures please, especially of how you do the bumpers.
