Hi Guys,

After some advice on a 1.5 inch body lift I have fitted over the weekend. Could anybody tell me how far the steering UJ comes off the box. Ive attached a picture of mine does it look about right? Seems like its come off quite far for short lift but I cant adjust it any more.

Thanks for the advice.

On the bottom one I can see the groove on the splines, is there another one further up for the bolt to go through?

No there is no other groove and no more adjustment on the other side its as low as I dare get it without it falling off. I thought it should be on further but there's no more adjustment left.

Be careful then bud, I haven't done a body lift on mine but I think further up towards the steering wheel there is another joint with a rubber disk or something in it, people on have extended that by putting another bit of rubber in, like I said I haven't done the mod but I think that is right.

You'll also see the Mod I did as well after I did my 2" Body Lift with the extra doughnut that will allow the clamp to sit back on the spline correctly :thumb2

Have a look through Banshee's build thread, I think he did it and he takes good pics, don't drive it unless you have to though, alex on here had a very close call due to a steering mod failure.

Hey, I was just talking bout you [emoji38]
I'm always here 24/7 lol

That first pic of matey boys looks a bit worrying as I can see the groove that the pinch bolt should be clamped onto, he needs to do that extension by the looks of it

As said above I wouldn't be driving that mate until you can confirm it is in its original position

Deffo, is that what happened to Alex or was that something else.

Exactly what happened to Alex, he was at a roundabout and it fell off
Good job it wasn't when he was doing 70mph on the motorway

I did the opposite and forgot to undo it when I did the lift which just meant it got pulled up into the air causing a gap allowing air in and fluid out, it was enough to make my pump whine and my PS fluid had that much air in that it looked like a McDonalds strawberry milkshake when I checked it :lol

All sorted now :thumb2

Thanks for the advice guys, If i move the uj down onto the steering box it falls off the column its as if it needs spacing to fit.

Yeah! Body lifts:clap Give me some of that:naughty
Luke. Post 12. Double donut needed pal.
mmmm donuts :augie

Thanks for all your help fella's, ill do like Alex for the time being and space the donut out. When i get chance ill make an ally spacer on the water jet at work for a better solution.

That'll do:clap
Any chance you could make 2. I've got a 2" lift kit lined up so will need to space the donut too. :thumb2
Obviously there'll be payment involved so let me know if you can:D
