So, there has been many threads on the Body Lift, but one thing I have never seen mentioned is the Intercooler. If you lift the body by 2 inches, do you also have to lift the Intercooler up, otherwise, surely there will be a gap between the bonnet rubber and the top of the Intercooler.

If so, how do you do this? New Bolts/studs, and extra spacers? If so what length and thread do I need to order?

You don't need to worry, actually it does raise bonnet and rubber, cooler stays put, and yes you do have a gap afterwards. I haven't found a longer rubber yet but makes no difference.

Don't forget the bottom half of fan cowling :thumb2

Just fit an extra cooling fan on top of the intercooler for more draft

not noticed any difference with the running since I did the body lift.
you would also have to get longer hoses for the intercooler.
could just get another standard rubber and graft it onto the original:nenau

Take advantage of the body lift and fit a massahoosive intercooler :sly
You know it makes sense :naughty

whats the little mini filter for next to the priming bulb in you pic pete:nenau
crank case breather???

Sorry to ask more questions, I have been using the search facility, and read all the posts right back to the beginning, but I still have a couple of unanswered questions.

firstly, does anyone know what happened to the excellent write up of doing a body lift that was in the downloads section? It was there when I first joined, as I remember checking it out, but seems to have vanished. I also noticed there have been a few requests for this in the past, but there is never an answer.

Secondly, do you have to take the bumpers off to do the actual lift? The instructions from Xpajun Off-Road do not mention removing it. e.g, if I was not too worried about the gap for a few days, and just wanted to get the lift on, then sort the bumpers out over the next weekend, would this be possible. The reason I ask, is with the rear bumper, you just move the fixings down back down on the bumper anyway, so there must be enough room for it to stay in place, what about the front?

Front bumper needs to be removed, I think back bumper does aswell.

The guide is for shoguns by the way, but pretty much the same.

Cheers. With all the lights and bits it will take me 2 days just to remove the bumpers.

sent from my phone, sorry for any typo's.

As for the rubber bellow that sits on top of the IC from the bonnet you could either add some sort of rubber extension or poss get a second bellow off a scrapper & cut off say 3" & attach it to the one on yours if you were worried about it

Think it would be easier to lift up the IC, only need a couple of bits of new pipe, a bit of threaded rod, and 4 x 2" spacers. Simples....:lol

I just wondered what other people did, in case I had missed the info, as I thought it would have a detrimental effect on the IC working. The fact that Nissan have gone to such lengths fitting the bellows in the first place, made me think it may be more important to get the air through it, but I guess not so much in the UK climate.

I must admit at first I was sceptical when people said "nah it dont matter" but actually, after driving with it and checking power, it really doesent make the tiniest bit of difference :lol :clap

Cheers, I will roll with it and see, as I say, if I do notice any issues, it's simple enough to resolve.

Just need to work out why the bumpers need to come off now:confused:
