Hi guy's  on start up i'm getting blue smoke from the exhaust, this stops untill I rev it to about 1.5K & then I get a puff of smoke again, but at a constant 2K revs it seem clear  She also drinks a bit of oil which has'nt bothered me as all my cars have. I don't know if it could be valve stem seals or the turbo as I did find a bit of oil resadue in the intercooler a while back, but what has got me with this is the truck has only done 69K  I'm going to remove the pipe from the inlet side of the turbo if/when it stops raining to see if their is any play on the blades.

Any advise will be most greatfull
Thanks

Neil

Well i've been out to check the play on the turbo blades & there is none I can feel but did find some oil  I then check the breather pipe which go's into the pipe from the air box to turbo (Don't ask why I did it I just did  ) & their was quite a bit of oil in the pipe 8O :? :?
I'm now stuck on where to check/do next

Sweety,
The breather should go in to a valve to the right of the head (little black plastic canister) any oil should drain from the bottom of this, back to the sump, I think there is a valve in the top and possibly a gauze in there to. I would remove this and check for any blockages back to the sump also see if you can take it apart and give it a good clean out.
I must admit it’s a job I have been meaning to do on mine and have yet to get around to, so let us know how you get on.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there m8  I was thinking the same, i'll have a look to see if I can get it a part if not i'm going to fit a oil catch tank like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-ROUND-OIL...ryZ72205QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
A new member Scooter had the same prob & after fitting one the smoke stopped  Thanks again for the PM Scooter 8)

Hi Toolbox  well I took off the valve today & opened up the top of it, inside there is a rubber diafram & a spring I cleaned it up & stretched the spring a bit. when I came to refit the top it would'nt stop on  so in the end I superglued it on  I blew down the breather pipes & they all seamed fine  I phoned Nissan for the price of a replacement valve unit & gave them the part number & the guy on the phone told me to sit down as it was £161 & I think VAT had to be added aswell 8O 8O 8O so i'm going to run it for a few days to see if it gets better if not i'll be going for an oil catch tank as it's alot cheeper than a valve

Blimey that’s a bit steep for that. Was there any gauze in it Sweety?

Well I fitted my oil catch tank today So hopefully in the next few days or weeks any oil left in the induction system will find it's way out  As it was dark when I finished you could make out the oil gas/steam coming out of the breather filter with the tourch light 8O
