where is the spring for the clutch pedal as mine has now dropped to halfway and refuses to ruturn fully even when pulled up with foot :doh

i have changed the slave, master and flexi this year and dampner was blocked off so only thing i can think of is this spring but i can't see it :nenau help plz!
 
im not 100% sure but they are usually on the pedal, jam your head right under the dash:augie could be quite high up the pedal:thumb2

Definitely a spring.
Mine had snapped in half and the tiny plastic bush had halved too.
It's all at the top of the pedal.
 
have you checked the clutch fluid level? it could be the clutch damper pipe
 
clutch fluid is where it should be and dampener was removed & block in feb/mar, that was the 1st thing i checked
 
The Spring is not the conventional curly style spring, it is more like a giant PEG Spring that goes inside the frame work of the pedal and is really hard to see with out taking the assembly out.

Basically it flips over, so when the pedal is at the top, it helps to lift the pedal up, and once the pedal has moved down a small amount, pushes it down.

That is correct, and I guess if it breaks it may be possible for it to drop down (the coily bit) and restrict the pedal returning, so come on Mel get your head down in the foot well with a torch and have a look, I am not as supple as I used to be but just been out and had a look at mine, easy to see in all its glory, Rick
 
hi lads had the same thing last year on mine it was the pedal bracket spot welds come adrift i just drilled and bolted where the welds are .

I hope not, cos i just ordered a new spring & 2 bushes, spring was £12.97inc vat and bushes were £3.70inc vat each not too bad
