Health and Safety. What is the point?

We wanted to take a picture of a railway employee wearing a watch.

He and thousands of colleagues had been issued with a super-accurate timepiece, no doubt to emphasise how their trains run to time.

But before our photographer could venture onto the railway platform, he had to watch a 20-minute Health and Safety video, outlining the various perils he might encounter.

This is a platform where thousands of passengers wander freely every day, with no training whatsoever.
