Got in the truck and slid the crook lock under the passengers seat as normal and started the engine and the Air Bag light is now blinking

Is this just a coincidence as there are no passengers side airbags on my Maverick just the one in the steering wheel

I do however seem to remember a cable and connecter possibly in the plastic trim on the runner closest to the door

Any ideas guys before I don the toolkit?

Look for a yellow cable that you have moved/dislodged with the crook lock.

Right, no yellow cable below seats, I've even removed the plastic trim panels around the runners and no cables in there.

I've inspected the AirBag fuses and the Meter fuse as directed in the workshop manual but they were fine, with the fuse removed the light stays on and stays solid, with the fuse in it blinks constantly

Any other ideas?

The airbag control unit (usually Siemens) is underneath the centre console, roughly beneath the armrest.
As far as I know all of the airbag wiring terminates here, so start from here and see exactly what wiring you do have.
BTW it could also be orange, normally a figure 8 twin cable.

Good man, that would make more sense as that has took a bettering recently since fitting boards in the back as per my commercial conversion

There's a section on the club downloads to put this light out, it works for me, but not all have luck with it.

I'll give that a looksy, I'm worried though that by switching it off I'm just masking a deeper issue

Firstly apologies for the state of the floor, I've neglected him over the Winter and not hoovered him out, if it was a child I would habe certainly had him taken off me by now lol

I've just took some pictures and I'm a bit concerned about the circuit board thats floating around in there all exposed :S

looks like you have bolloxd your window switch, you should unplug the yellow plug before lifting the console too high, if you require another I think I have one yours is a SWB yes? Rick

:lol:lol

Yup I've just figured this out the hard way I've tried to put it all back together but It's having none of it :doh

Worst bit is, my passengers side window is down an inch and I can't get it back up

OK easiest way is to pull the door card and unplug the motor connector the apply 12 volt to the two motor wires one way round it will go down other way up, so sorted for now, do you want a switch for a fiver plus post? Oh and you will need to know what wires go where this is extra, as I see some are pulled off, Rick

I've managed to get the window up now but I think I might also be able to repair the switch, It appears there were 2 bits of metal in there that pivot on a plastic peg contacting little pads in the switch to complete the circuit to make the windows go either up or down.

I have one of the pivoting pieces of metal I just can't find the 2nd, if I do I should have a working switch again, if I cant and I'm really stuck I might take you up on that offer

I've unplugged the ABS and plugged it back in and I still get flashing, the erasing sequence doesn't work either :doh

I might leave the battery off overnight

It was also a Bosch ABS module and not a Siemens :nenau

I had similar probs with the Mrs Mk2 motor after I unplugged the steering wheel plug I could not reset it by any of the methods suggested so took it to a local guy and £20 later sorted, Rick

the switches are easy to sort as long as you have all the bit's, Rick
