Biodiesel in 1998 Y61 2.8 GR SE?

Has anyone any information as to compatibility of the 2.8tdi and Zexel Kiki injector pump with biodiesel, I reckon it should be OK, but would love to hear from owners and users.

i know the Terrano have Zexel Kiki ECU's and injector pumps and people run those on bio, not 100% sure of the Y61 though, i'd of thought it'll be ok

As most vehicles 1998 or earlier were not common rail I would expect your vehicle to be quite suitable for WELL MADE biodiesel.

Are you making your own Brew or buying it?

Biomotors lists it as a 1 tank kit, which in variably means it'll chew through chip oil neat quite happily, so I'd also guess biodiesel should be fine. See: http://www.biomotors.co.uk/CarsVansN.html#Nissan

I've made biodiesel for about 3 years and I have run Mercedes E300's and Discovery 300 tdi's on it without a problem. I couldn't resist this good condition Patrol at the right price, and to be honest I had been running on bio for about 3000 miles until it suffered from the dreaded hot start problem, which has cost me a fortune to get fixed, the diesel pump mechanics blamed it on the bio, which I believe had nothing to do with the problem, but they were so damning it has rather put me off using it.
I have researched the Zexel Kiki pumps, and as far as I can tell they are compatible with bio and it's not common rail, so no problems there either, so I reckon I should go back to plan A and start running on bio again.

cant say recall anyone with the 2.8, mentioning it. could try members jocky, maybe makeitfit too.

the zd 3.0 tdi will not take it in y61s from my2000 and r20s.
