Fellow Terraneros,
I've been toying with the idea of running a vehicle on veggie oil for a good few years and have done a fair bit of reading. Now I have the opportunity to give it a go. I believe that the first thing to check is the fuel pump and I believe the Terrano has Bosch, correct? The simplest conversion being to add an extra fuel filter and throw in some cooking oil at a suitable ratio.

The important part...
What conversions are you running (photos more than welcome) and how are you finding it?
LPGers don't feel left out either...:D

If you have a Bosch pump (you'll be able to tell if the MAF is also Bosch) you can just pour in the SVO & off you go it's that simple but the fuel filter will prob need changing after 500-1K miles as the veg will clear some muck out of the tank & lines. With the winter coming think most run a 50/50 mix:thumbs

I use everything and anything I can get my hands on!!!!

At the min I'm running fresh Veg with a few litres of derv in

I haven't ran waste since having the new Terrano after my maverick was written off, however I have just spent a few hundred quid on a Bio Processor, just made my first batch last night

I'm thrilled, can process 200 litres in 4-5 hours and even use the sludgy whites that I collect :thumb2

Here's an early pic from when it first went in, it's spick and span in there now, no mess, I can process with just a pair of gloves now and not have to worry about dirtying my clothes, I love it!!!!

Better when you only have to travel 30 metres to fetch it out the shed :sly

20 mile round trip for me but I have got to go that way tomorrow so 2 birds with 1 stone as they say.

I'm currently on a 70 percent veggie mix with 20 diesel and 10 petrol.

I don't usually use petrol as it is not oil based (diesel pump and injectors should be lubed ect)

But they will run 100 neat veggie, did this for 3/4 months in the summer :thumb2

The colder it gets the harder they get to fire up, once fuel is warm they will run 100 percent neat, but getting it warm is the issue as it's thick when cold :thumb2

Most fuel heater systems are crap too

Iv used over 4000 ltrs of vuggie oil, saved over £2000 in 4 years.

Only had starting problem in the cold.snap, not getting diesel in early enough

I do have a heat exchanger fitted, better running but takes anwhile to warm up as from cab heater.
