hey peeps,

I just wanted to create my own thread to get some answers on this. Ive done a little research to understand what Bio-Diesel is, and I am considering starting to use it. Here is where I htink I can get it:

http://www.greenworldbiodiesel.co.uk/where.php

but i have some questions.
I know after 500 miles I will need to change my fuel filter, how often after that is this requried?
I think I have bigger rubber fuel pipes than the original metal ones, are these ok? I read rubber can break down....
what can I expect performance wise? I dont drive for speed, I mean will I get lots of smoke, smells or lumpy running?
How much is it?!:augie oh hold on, just noticed, its 114p/litre so im not convinced thats significant enough to warrent the cost of fuel filter change and risk to rubber pipes?

from that link it gives todays price of £1.14@litre so a good saving i have been looking to see where i can get it around the doncaster area thought about the svo route as my other half gets 10% discount at asda but not quite sure yet
cheers Andy

Right o then ring Jamie on 07501132919 he's near Manchesteeer somewhere and where I get it from. You should be able to negtiate around 82p a litre if you buy a 1000. Fear not though if you've not got the where with all for that , you can buy less:thumbs
I changed my filter after the first couple of tank fulls and since then done it once over 10,000 miles. No performance issues at all , infact I swear it runs better and smells sweet:D
The beauty of it is you just use it as diesel . No messing with heaters and that.
As far as rubber fuel lines go I have had mine done and can see no degradation so far.

Hi guys, i have been using bio for about a month now with no real noticeable differences.

As for the filter change, your motor may be ready for one anyway and never harms to try and keep the system clean so for the sake of £15 or whatever it is its worth doing.

I buy mine from a place in Bradford at just under a £1.00 per litre, so the saving is well worth it....as i save nearly £30 per full tank and as i can often use a full tank per week or fortnight then the saving is certainly worth it.

Ah now then FILTERS , bin the Nissan one and get an agricultural one ffrom farmers shop. Replaceable filters about 2 quid. Glass spin off bowl with pumpo gizmo about 15 quid.:D
Then you can actually see any gunge and even do a bubble test if you want:thumbs
Keep a spare filter in the glove box and be assured if anything goes wrong you can do it in a couple of mins with no tools , simples :D

So have you done this mod?
Do you have any pics?

I've not done mine yet it's in the glove box though :lol
My mate has two on his landy and it works a treat. I've got some re plumbing to do on mine later for the LPG so I'll be fitting it then. Pics as usual later:thumbs

cheers guys, interesting comments, im feeling a bit more confident that my rubber fuel pipes wont rot away :thumb2

im going to investigate this place in bradford, but for the price difference i might be better going to the place near me (only about 3 mile away)

ill buy a couple of filters while I am at it, the one i have in now is only 6 month old.

I'd leave the filter in for now, then after a couple of tank fulls or three do a filter change.
Doesn't take long and if you fill the filter when you put it back on you shouldn't need to pump it up either :thumbs
