I'm currently running 31 cooper stts.
And want to fit 33s.
Can I fit them without beefing the steering up for road use?

I will have to beef it up for off roaring I know.
Can't quite get my head around what I'm supposed to do to achieve this.

I think I need a steering box idler from a left hand drive?
Dunno what else.

I hope to sell my 31s to fund the beefing. Or just give them some one to do it for me:naughty

steering idler and drag link need beefing up and ideally the track rods

You can cut down a std steering box and fit it on the n/s using longer bolts and some spacers.
I did a mod thread on it sometime back but that poxy search function does my head in. :doh
It's here somewhere

Looks complicated.
And looks like a lot of shopping for none off the shelf bits.

Who wants do it for me?
And total cost?

I can do it for you mate.Nothing off the shelf ,
I need a steering box to cut up and your old drag link back once you have the kit.
It's rock hard but will need more attention when used as a daily drive. Nothing hard just checking bolt tightness etc.
I haven't done the full thing for a while but it'll be about 200 squid mate ;)

And whats the pros of this mod? :naughty

The steering will stay where you point it and your expensive tyres won't wear out prematurely .
The standard steering idler is made of chocolate and will just get off and go home once you start playing in the dirt with 33s
31s are the limit I reckon on std idler.
One steering kit = one tyre , simples :thumbs

Started shopping for the mod:D
Got myself a steering idler box for the bargain price of £20.:D
Its a deal/a steal/sale of the ______ century.
They are averaging £50. And go up to £130.
