Can anyone tell me if Ford/Nissan did any bigger engines instead of the 2.4 petrol?
I'm looking for more grunt as my 2.4 is on the way out!
I'd like to stay on petrol as gas is cheap(LPG)
Cheers

you could look at the 2.4 16V related engine in the Nissan Silvia etc, anything can be made to fit, Skyline engine perhaps but it depends how much work you want to do. The 2.4 16v is the same series of engine but from my research isn't a straight swap, there are straight and V 6 cylinder Nissan engines too. Probably best to ignore ford stuff as in reality these trucks are Nissans through and through.

bigger engine

Thanks for that. I'd like to mate up to the existing box if poss.
Dont mind all the engine mount, exhaust fiddles etc, but a Nissan as you suggest makes sense.
Do you know of a good nissan engine info source?
Cheers
PS lwb springs going on tomorrow, how far can I go on the torsion bar wind up?

Just make it level any more than that and you'll have no droop travel left - I've go no bump stops on which gets a bit more droop travel, but will put extra strain on the CV joints though.
