I am going to buy one tomorrow for my new dash cam :naughty

Any advise on what to look for?

32gb is the biggest capacity it will take :)

when buying stuff like this I always go local, that way if you get problems, it is an easy fix, just pop back to the store, ebay even if good supplier with postage etc just takes too long, Rick

I get my sd cards, etc, from Wilkinsons.......good price and local.

My son in law has just finished a digital photography course, in the local Art College(Plymouth). He was told that 32 gb cards are unstable, and not to use them for really important work, 16gb were recommended as stable and no worries to use.

I only use 16gb cards in my digital camera having been given that advice.

So if you are using this in a medium priced dash cam, you do not want to run the risk of a corrupt file, if your claim depends on it. As the cameras spool through and re record anyway, then 16 gb should be mote than adequate.

Any known brand from a reputable shop should do. I never had a bad card, have been using Kingston, Lexar, Sandisk.
Remember not to format it in your pc, always do it in the camera, to avoid corrupted files.

I have three 32gb micro sd cards ..... two are sandisk and the other is Kingston ...... sandisk are class 10 , and the Kingston is class 6 ...... never had any problems in my dash cam , in fact some of the footage is currently being used in a claim :naughty

Same here Pete my 32gbs have been fine. Could just be someone that had a bad experience and as such it is their opinion. Anyway I can only give my experience.

I actually took Riks advise and bought local to save any hassle, initial night Tim videos look good, I will upload one tomorrow :thumb2
