Having completed the diff repair found the disk brake sluders were near to seizing, so sorted them out and though I had better do the OS as well, once the wheel was off something was not right, top wishbone was hitting the shocker then realised the rear part was a lot lower than the front, also there were some scuff marks on the top near the ball joint, and I cannot figure what would have caused them, something trapped between the wheel and wishbone? and what caused the deformation, I have a suspicion that I have the torsion bars up too high, as on its wheels the top bump stops are just touching, on the last outing only the OS was up high as I had not been able to re index the NS, now the NS is up as well it has also lifted the OS, but I am wondering if it was this that has done the top wishbone as front is bump stopped but not the rear, but this would mean the torsion bar has actually pulled the top wishbone down with enough force to bend it? and what about the scuff marks, I quite like the 14 inch clearance I now have under the front diff support bar, but if it is going to bend wishbones then I had better lower it a tad, advice fro makeitfit, fez, stinka and any others welcomed, Rick

Hmmm, I really can't see the torsion bar having any chance of bending the top arm.
I know the bump stop is at the front of the arm but there simply can't be enough clout and speed to twist the arm on full droop etc
I've had major air and stupid landings in the past and the only thing that bent was the front shocks on full comp, that's when I reinstated the bottom bump stops. I don't use top ones as I want max droop.
So I'd be asking did you hit the front wheel against some big rock or similar that was too big for the tyre to climb, ie a full stop in the direction of the wheel axis ?
I assume the top arm bushes are ok
Any pics ?

I can't see the torsion bar bending the wishbone, nor can I see the fact it may have topped out on the bump stop bending anything either

Could you have slid/drove/crashed into anything say on lock straight into the wheel rim ?

Thanks for the replies, here is a pic, you can see the bright part on the front of the wishbone so combined with your theories I think I must have had an object in there that did the deed, need to get a big bar in there some time and bend it back to shape but not before this week end as from banger experience something might break and I do not have time to be changing wishbones now, Rick

well loaded up ready for tomorrow, and discovered how that polished bit got on the top wishbone, it is the way I do the straps to hold it on the trailer, some times they rub, so I am now thinking along the lines that last time out I was being over aggressive especially on that section that did the drive shaft and now think that after being compressed the wheel dropped into a hole and with the combined weight of the wheel and over dome torsion bars was enough to bend that side of the arm down, suffice to say now it is on the trailer, level compared to the yard, both sides are quite tight on the top bump stops, so will need to wind them down a bit tomorrow, Rick
