beach fishing north wales help!

evening all! i used to fish A LOT in younger years, 2 to 3 times a week, when i got bored of catching lots of fish i went on to trying to catch larger fish. i had lots of 30+lb carp and pike plus lots of 10+ consistently.
my problem is this.....i have tried for over 8 years to catch a fish off the beach in north wales, despite trying several baits etc. i have a good cast, beer in bag and patience but nought :nenau
i tend to fish north of barmouth(well i turn up anyway), by llanberris, any tips guys? thanks, mike.

We once took a fishing boat trip out of Barmouth, very productive.

I have seen a few people beach casting on the rising tide on the beaches north of Barmouth, and I have seen some good catches of sea bass, BUT there are more people who use more fish as bait than what they catch.:doh

For sea fishing from land I found you need height to get a good cast, and the rocks off Benlech on Anglesey or Molfre can be fairly good for mackerel during August.

yep, 6 for me too please! ive just ordered some iluminous rubber baits after seeing john wilson last nite, with some strip of mackerel on hook he had a good haul! i shall persevere, thanks rustic

Fishing is bad enough but on a beach You need a boat mate, that way you go to where the fish are :sly
Even I can catch fish then as I've found them to be exceedingly dim :lol
Mackerel in particular, just bung the feathers in and they leap on , simples :clap
Locally though, the bloody scallop dredgers have mutilated the sea bed. The little fish just ain't there , so the whiting ain't there so the mackerel are miles out too. Hence the dolphins are pissed off and considering leaving the planet earlier than planned :lol
