could you not put a spare 12v battery on, Im guessing it doesn't need to be nothing as big as the original aslong asyou don't try and start it.

cheers for that Fez i thought i read on here or another forum that when someone had removed the battery they had a problem with the immobiliser when they had reconnected it?
didnt realy explain myself the first time kids running wild dogs howling at postman fetch me my happy pills!!!
probably worrying about nothing
cheers:thumbs

it shouldnt matter as long as you havnt armed it befor taking the battery off as this could cause conflict in the system

You will have to lock other doors from the inside, or via the key.
There is a thread some where on how to re-initialise or synchronise the key to the alarm, I think??

Well the idea of having a second battery under the bonnet has been outlawed by the insurance company.... I checked this morning.

Good job I didn't fit it.... isn't it.:doh

i lock my terrano with fob then press key fob once to unlock drivers door, then i remove battery negative charge the battery and i leave it dissconnected untill i use it again sometimes it can be up to 2 weeks.i then lock drivers door with key, i have never had a problem, i just re-connect battery lead and start up and drive away!
