I've been looking at fitting for a leisure battery for a while but struggled as there is nowhere in the engine bay to put it and I'm a little reluctant to put a battery in the cab/sleeping area ( I might have found a solution though).
The engine bay is somewhat cramped and this is where I'd prefer to install.

What problems am I likely to come across by:
Putting a Navaro washer bottle in the offside wing?
Then seeing how much space is for a secondary battery?
Then trying to shoehorn a snorkel in there?
Has anyone else come up with other solutions?
Cheers.

I thought about putting the early washer bottle under the inner wing on the o/s. Then fitting the battery behind the n/s headlamp where you have a washer bottle at the moment. The only issue for space that I found was the AC pipes on the engine bay side of the second battery but I managed to squeeze it in. As for the snorkle I can't help you I'm afraid. Bigbunny has the second battery fitted and also has a snorkle. I might be seeing him tomorrow so I'll ask him if he can post a photo for you.

A photo would be good. The second option of banging the battery under the bed with a breather hose is much simpler but the snorkel still needs the washer bottle space.

I have the second battery, and a snorkel... Luckily mine already has the washer bottle on the drivers side, in the wing, so I did not need to move it.

The Aircon pipes do limit the battery size a bit, keeping you down at a battery that is around the 55 - 65Ah, but for a second battery, that is not too bad as it is the same size as the standard one fitted on the other side.

On Suz's T2, I have the second battery, but no snorkel, and not having the snorkel actually reduces the space for the battery, as once the snorkel is fitted, you can remove that bit of plastic pipe that runs down the wing from the airbox towards the headlight.

Having said that, I made my snorkel, and took it straight into the back of the airbox, so it has no impact on space under the bonnet. I had to change the air filter type as well to allow for this.

There is a nice void in the rear door, which I think you could fit a washer bottle it, and then you could use the pipe that runs from the front to the back washer, to actually run the water from the back to the front washers.

I have thought about the washer bottle in the rear, or somewhere else away from the engine bay. I'd love to have a bash at making a snorkel, but I have no workshop or spaceto work, and £60 isn't much to apy for one.
I'll br looking at a 100+ Ah battery, so quite a large beast.

Washer bottle in the rear door is a good idea, as for second battery this is my off road Mav, Rick

I'm sorry Rick, I just fell about laughing at that photo of your off roader:thumbs

The problem I can see with interfering with the washer bottles is the wiring. Not checked to see the pump and wiring on the later truck but the earlier uses the same wires and pump to wash both front and rear. So unless you use a separate home made wiring there may be a few problems.

You don't need a workshop for a home made snorkel, I did mine on the drive, just a bit of time and determination. Handy to allow a couple of days though as there is a lot of double checking.

Extending the wires is not that bad, the T2s have a nice bit of trunking running down each side of the car, and with a bit of work you can get 4 wires through the rubber door feed into the boot door.

Watching with Interest as I too face this dilemma and won't be fitting a split charge system and battery until I've figured this out too.

Problem is I've got a snorkel fitted and even if I was able to get the battery in there with some fettling I also have lots of pipework in that area now for the heat exchanger and heated Eckes fuel filter so I'm a bit stuck :doh
