Hi all.
back after a spell in a mondeo.son inlaw has my 95 terrano.

picked up a 2001 terrano 2.7 tdi sport.couple of niggles.

1st gear a bugger to get into all others fine clutch seems ok.
and boy is it noisy.is it likely to be timing chains. or like my navara d22 noisy v belts they used to give a metalic slap after a few thou.other than that a nice bit of kit. and i promise i wont stray again.i love it.

terrano doesnt have a timing chain / belt ..... its gear driven :thumb2

Just change all your oils, it will be expensive but well worth it in the long run :thumbs

Make sure you use the right gearbox & LSD oil :thumbs

glad to hear its timing gear.havent had chance to do much still sitting in it drooling.bought all oils and filters for a weekend treat.did look at clutch fluid and its black. so i feel a fluid change coming on any tips appreciated.just been out and ran engine tipped water on belts and it quietened down so same as the navara new belt every service.
thanks all good to be back.

you will probably also find that they have dumped the underbonnet insulation on the facelift.

remember also that compared to the older truck, you have fixed hubs so can engage 4WD at any speed and dont need to reverse to disengage

you can engage them at any speed, but i've found if you don't slow down the green light don't go out when you disengage!

welcome back :thumb2
