hand brake comes on some times when driving
is there diferent brakes at back going to strip
them at weekend terrano 2000 year tdi any help
before i start most wellcome.

what the lever comes up ?
or the brake starts to drag?

any more info ?

It's a standard drums on the rear:Dto remove the drums you'll need 2 bolts can't think of the size but it's in the downloads, your adjusters will need adjusting but make sure the drums not binding:thumb2you will prob find the h/brake alot better but if it needs adjusting pull the flsp under the h/brake out of your way & use a socket & extension & you'll be able to get to the adjuster bolt:D

hi the brakes start to drag and it looksas
if i have disks on back.

i have drum on back. sorry cant help

not in 4wd when this happens are you ?
that would be gear box wind up (bad news)

towing ? mine hates towing its like the brakes are on intermittently

If it has you'll be on your own as it will be a mod. All Terrano 2's have rear drums. I think there may be some R3Ms with rear disks but that may be wrong just a nagging thing in the back of my head.

If the handle is actually being pulled up there is something amiss, like the cable is loose and catching somewhere or is badly in need of adjustment and the handle is bouncing on bumps onto the ratchet (have seen that on other cars) - what exactly is happening.

hi silly me it has got shoes and sometimes when i stop
then go to move falward you can feel the back brakes
come on gear stick does not move but if you try it it is
solid what should i look for as i will be looking at it this
weekend.

id take the hubs off and give them a service , clean with sand paper and brake cleaner. check adjusters and suitable lube where necessary.

also check cable runs free when hubs off
