I have replaced my Autohubs with AVM manual hubs but have no idea how these manual hubs interface with the 4WD lever in the cab. I did not fit them myself and have not got a schematic of the mechanism so have no idea of the their inner workings. PLEASE HELP.
1) To engage 4wd I flip the hubs to 4wd at the wheels and engage the lever to 4WD in the cab (green 4wd light on). Runs like in 4WD mode just like when I had my autos.
2) If I now engage the Autohubs WITHOUT engaging the 4WD lever in the cab, the vehicle seems now to be in 2WD. Is this correct? and can this damage the gearing somehow (mismatch between CAB and Wheel settings)
If the answer to question 2 is NO, then why not have the 4WD engaged all the time at the hubs and flip in the CAB........
Also- To disengage the manual hubs is it still needed to drive a distance in reverse AFTER flipping the switch at the wheel???
Answers greatly appreciated.
