Automatic Transmission oil smell like toast

A few weeks back asked for advice on a reluctant auto gear change. Advice was sound topped up the auto box and all was well but the problem seems to have returned. The auto oil smells like toast when I checked the dipstick. How often should this oil be changed? the car is a Nissan Mistral (Terrano) import 1994 with 47,000 on the clock serviced every 6000. Bought the car 18 months ago only 17000 on the clock. Checked service receipts no mention of Auto oil change.

Wouldnt hurt to change it.... LSD oil on them should be done every 70k.... had to change mine at 32k! :nenau
Cant think of anything that would make it smell like toast though!!!!
