I have just got down to stripping the auto hub and general service of the hub area.......But when I attempted to loosen the hub with the allen key [I thought it would be hex bolts til I took wheel off 8O ]
IS IT LEFT HAND THREAD AS NORMAL TO UNDO...cos if it is they are tight

Any one on line done em?

Was it left hand thread to undo??
Yes I think so, don't remember them being other wise
And I used long allen keys

Thanks guys...just wanted to make sure, before I apply the extra effort.

Garage overtightened one of mine and sheared the head off one, only found out when I stripped the hub down to fit Rossini discs.
Standard threads, I bought a 1/2" drive allen key so that I could torque them to the right setting to prevent shearing the bolt like the "professionals" did.... 8O

They were very, very tight, so much so I sheered one of my small drive socket thingemy's [must have been poor quality anyhow] ended up using a of pipe wrench on the allen key for extra load.

Whilst down there i noticed that I am seeping coolant  I guess it'll be the water pump next....hope it lasts a little while.

Thor check all your pipes 1st as this cold weather was popping coolant leaks up all over the place on mine

sweety has a point, the original nissan pipe clips, they are lke two bits of wire, arent all that good. i think after a while they compress the pipe beneath then too much and it looses its elasticty and they start to leak. It can be a good idea to get a few nice jubilee clips to replace them with as they start to look dodgey!

Mine were the same, just went round and tightened the clips.
They also started to leak when it was cold and I was stuck in traffic.

I will give all the clips n things the once over today......may even check em twice
