can anyone tell me why someone would take out the 2 washers and the snap ring that holds the drive shaft in . it the ones between the brake rings ?

only reason i can think of to do that is to replace the wheel bearings or tighten them up

Or to remove the hub to get to the rubber boots?

what I mean is I took the auto hub off to tighten the wheel bearings and they were missing . the previous owner took them out and didn't put them back in

Think u have ur answer they might of just forgot to put them back in

more likely broke the circlip/snapring, cncfabs should have the bits, I might but not sure where small bits like that are hard to find in my shed, Rick

thanks for that but I went and got then from Nissan at £33 for 4 washers and 2 snap rings
