Full instructions in workshop downloads

Takes about 10 - 15 mins each side to change them, don't even need to remove road wheels.

I think the downloads are for Terrano 2 hubs, and i am not sure if they are the sam in a patrol but:

there is also a download on cleaning and regreasing, and another on swapping them for manual hubs!

examine them carefully when they are stripped and any signs of chips or cracks or damage to the hub swap them for manulas!

The autos are good as you can engage 4x4 without getting your feet wet, but if the hub is in anyway defective, new brake rings may just be wasteing your money!

Hello, Can anyone comfirm if a Patrol and T2 / Mav hubs are the same, and does the download we have cover the Patrol?. Mav.

Later Patrols have semi-auto hubs which are definitely different. You can use them as auto-hubs or if you are going for a day's laning, you can lock them with the wheel-brace (as I do). This also (theoretically) allows switch on the fly 2H-4H and back at up to 50mph.

I don't know about earlier Patrols.

Auto hubs

Hi there,Had the same problem on my new 96 lwb maverick,One hub(drivers side) had a smashed ring, causing it to be jammed on.This caused the passinger hub to try and jump in.I removed the hub internals so no further damage was caused whilst I sourced a hub.The solution was to buy a 2nd hand hub the first one I looked at was also damaged due to sticking on,so check them before you buy,I bought two hubs for 30 quid and made two good hubs out of four hubs I had.
The damage was caused by poor service/missuse. I also bought a service cd on ebay that took me straight to the damage via flowcharts
