auto gear shift lever removal

I have looked in the workshop manual and can't find how to remove the gear selector lever on an automatic R50 Terrano R3mR.

I obviously need to remove the centre consul can any one help ?

The boss is off to France in the morning on a booze run so I am going to leave the Terrano Gearshift alone until she returns.

My life would be hell if the lever fell off whilst she was in France.

The top mounted release button is broken in half it still works but I am going to fit a new lever before the whole thing packs up.

Replacement from Nissan is completely different as it has a side button mechanism - dealer says its a modification.
