I bought a classic car at the weekend, its just a shell, no engine, box, rear axle. the Vin plate is missing, but it does have a REG plate front and rear, as well as 3 part mouse eaten tax discs.

Looked at the DVLA website for a V62 Form, but it asks for a VIN number or the application will be returned.

Is there anyway i can apply for a log book?

DVLA vehicle status check says it was last taxed March 2004

thanks

vin number will be on any old mot certs,if you have any.

No VIN

Depending on how old the vehicle is and what it is most have the Chassis number stamped in several places as an anti-theft measure. Many vehicles have one on the bulkhead, possibly one under the drivers seat area as well as the one rivitted to the front bodywork.

I would research your classic whatever it is to find out where the other markings are.

If you have a registration plate it may still be on the PNC system and that stores the VIN. Just find a friendly policeman or apply to DVLA for a duplicate log book?

you could try getting a plate from manufature make sure you have all paper work correct as dvla love sending paper work back i have had no amount of problems with dvla recently it seems that there is no common sense with them now used to like it when you could visit the offices but they have closed them all down since then they have gone down hill

Its a Reliant Robin Van.....:lol

The VIN plate has been removed, and the DVLA ask for a VIN number on a duplicate logbook application.

ive found out reliant did stamp the chassis, but chances are its too far rusted to get the correct numbers
